Monstrance from the Roman Catholic church in Vessem, North Brabant

The object consists of the following parts: the foot, which passes into the lower half of the stem, the nodus, the upper half of the stem, the bottom of the holder, the host stand (the lunula), the mounts and the two vertical connecting pieces (the supporting pillars), then the finial, consisting of a lid, upon which a spire composed of ten parts is placed. The parts are largely assembled into each other and secured with pins. The bottom of the holder is riveted. The six-lobed foot runs out at the bottom into a broad flat rim. It passes upwards into the six-sided stem, which in the middle has a rough nodus decorated with six unworked facets. Both stem sections are interrupted by hexagonal knots. The cylindrical mounts have two rims, in which cross-flower profiles are sawn. Each supporting pillar is decorated with a scroll decorated with hobnails, pinnacles and a window tracery. Three connecting pieces have the shape of gargoyles.
