Monstrance

The object consists of the following cast parts: the foot, which passes into the lower half of the stem, the nodus, the upper part of the stem, the bottom of the holder, the holder for the host (the lunula), the mount for the glass cylinder, the two vertical connecting pieces (supporting pillars), the spire. The six-lobed foot runs out into a broad flat rim. It passes upwards into the six-sided stem, upon which the hollow nodus provided with six facets is mounted and then into the six-sided stem section that gradually widens, upon which the cylinder is placed. The two cylindrical mounts have rims consisting of cross-flowers. Each supporting pillar has a scroll decorated with hobnails on the underside. They end in pinnacles. Towards the inside, the supporting pillars have a rim of rings. The spire is flat and round at the bottom, it is provided with a notch. The supporting pillars have been repaired at the foot. Some pinnacles are missing.
