About this work
Stoneware jug on a ring foot with a globular body and narrow neck. The C-shaped handle is attached to the neck and shoulder. Profile on the neck. The jug is decorated with turning rings, the shoulder being smoothed. On the belly, in relief, three times a printed and applied medallion with the personification of Hope with the inscription 'HOFNUNG'. The border of the medallion with four cherub heads. Attached to the handle, a tin mount with a lid; on the inside marked with a crown and the letters 'C.I.'. Siegburg.
