Strip of batiste with lace embroidery along the edges, featuring a row of flowers and a scalloped border of leaves beneath the flowers

Strip of natural-colored batiste with lace embroidery: point de Dinant (Dresden lace made in Dinant in the Southern Netherlands). A narrow unadorned band in the middle of the strip widens towards the ends into a half-oval field of unadorned batiste. Decorated around with shadow embroidery and openwork with fillings imitating needle lace. The small pattern parts are created by drawing together some threads or groups of threads in the fine fabric. The pattern is symmetrical and consists of several different flowers in one row on either side of a more or less triangular composition in the center, on both long sides of the strip. The scalloped edge results from the linking of volute leaves under the row of flowers.
