About this work
Fragment of a stoneware can on a high foot with an egg-shaped body and narrow neck. Rim and handle missing. The handle (broken) is attached to the shoulder. Profiles on the neck, belly and foot. Partially covered with cobalt blue. The lower part of the belly with vertical fluting and the widest part with profiles and engraved decoration. The vaulted shoulder is slightly narrower than the belly and decorated with semi-circular panels with incised decoration surrounded by pressed triangles and rosettes. On the neck in relief a pressed and applied lion's head. Raeren/Westerwald.
