About this work

Man with a tall hat, seen from the back. Tall hat with the name 'Chapeau en Bateau'. Redingote with a low waist and octagonal buttons. Striped stockings and leather garters on boots with pointed toes. Around the neck a striped neckerchief (?). The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published by Sellèque, Paris, 1797-1839. Subject headings within the Atlas Zeden en Gewoonten: Clothing, Fashion plates.
