About this work
A family celebrates Saint Nicholas Day in an interior. The father sits reading by the hearth, while behind him two daughters show off the dolls they have received. On the floor, a child snacks from a bowl of cookies and sweets. To the left, a crying boy has received only a rod; the maid behind him holds his shoe containing the rod. State before letter.
