Winepot or kendi of Chinese porcelain from the wreck of the Dutch East Indiaman Witte Leeuw

Wine jug from VOC ship 'Witte Leeuw', 99% preserved. The sherd is white porcelain without contamination. The wall features panels in relief, the foot is thick and projecting. The jug has a slender, broken spout. Opposite is a slender handle running from the belly to the shoulder. The glaze is thick, blue-tinted, with craquelures and pinholes. The wall is decorated with six panels with lotus branches; the shoulder bears a labyrinth pattern. Two peach branches on the neck. Flames on either side of the spout and handle. Accompanied by lid NG-1978-127-10011-W.
