Flintlock pistol

The lock is decorated with foliage, both chiseled in relief and engraved, including a trident or lily, and bears a signature. The barrel is divided by three rings, one around the breech; no front sight; the barrel is blued and decorated on top with gold-inlaid arabesques around the seated god Mars and hunting scenes; stamped underneath with MIC. The burl walnut stock is simply carved. The gilded brass furniture consists of two ramrod pipes, an openwork scroll screwplate with a hunting scene, an unadorned thumbplate supported by two winged women with openwork scrolls, a trigger guard with foliage in relief, and a butt cap engraved with Classical warriors and war trophies, as is the butt plate; the ramrod of baleen is fitted with a cowhorn cap.
