Flintlock pistol

The lock is chiseled in relief with floral vines, branches, and a grotesque mask, and engraved with scrollwork, a monster with leaves, and the inscription MASTRECK. The barrel is fitted with a flat rib with a signature and the iron front sight bead; the barrel is chiseled in relief with scrolls, a grotesque mask, and a flower cup, and engraved with foliage in between; the tail of the barrel is fitted with a groove for the rear sight and the inscription N4P above an engraved fern, and stamped underneath with an r. The stock is carved with foliage among other motifs; the ramrod cap is of cowhorn. The iron furniture is chiseled in relief, except for the two ramrod pipes, and consists of a symmetrical screwplate made of scrolls, a trigger guard with a mask, an unadorned oval thumbplate in openwork leafy vines, and a butt cap with a grotesque mask on the butt plate framed by leafy vines; the ramrod is fitted with a cowhorn cap.
