Flintlock pistol

The lock plate has a stepped tail and is engraved with foliage in panels and a signature; the cock is decorated in bas-relief. The barrel is stamped with the coat of arms of Utrecht on both top and bottom and has a rib running over to the breech; a wing-shaped rear sight is set in the tail of the barrel, the front sight is made of brass. The stock is carved with, among other things, acanthus leaves. The formerly gilded brass furniture with partially chased relief decoration, except for the two octagonal ramrod tubes, consists of a symmetrical screw plate of openwork curls, partially granulated, a trigger guard framed by leafy tendrils, an unworked oval thumb plate with a little crown above it, birds on either side and a mask below it, and a butt cap decorated with leafy tendrils and with a mask at the bottom; the ramrod is fitted with a brass cap.
