About this work

Military flintlock pistol for the German market; simple, but of high quality; part of a pair. The lock is not decorated. The barrel is blued and has a rib running over it with the inscription MASTRICH; the front sight bead is of iron, and the tail of the barrel has a groove for the rear sight. The stock is simply carved. The iron furniture includes, among other things, a screwplate in the shape of leafy vines, a thumbplate in the shape of an inverted drop, and a butt cap with a small, stepped butt plate with a point on it; the ramrod is fitted with an iron cap.
