About this work

Part of a pair. The lock is engraved with animals that are part of the hunt; on the lock plate is a signature. The barrel has a trumpet engraved with foliage, is stamped with the coat of arms of Utrecht, and bears the signature. The stock has simple carving. The furniture is of iron and includes, among other things, an openwork screw plate with foliage and a running dog, an unadorned trigger guard framed by openwork leafy vines, and two supports in the form of classical winged female figures, and the stock cap with a chiseled mask.
