Flintlock pistol

Part of a pair. The lock plate is engraved with a leaping lion and a signature. The barrel is engraved and chased in relief with, among other things, a goose; a rib runs over the top; marked at the rear with the coat of arms of Utrecht. The stock is carved with, among other things, foliage. The iron furniture includes, among other things, an openwork thumb plate, a symmetrical screw plate of curls in the form of a snake on either side of a mask under the rear lock bolt, and a butt with a grotesque mask at the bottom with a small mask on the chin; the ramrod is fitted with an iron cap.
