Military flintlock pistol

Military pistol; part of a pair. The exterior of the lock plate bears a signature, the interior is stamped with IG. The gilded brass barrel has a rib on top, a brass front sight, and a rear sight consisting of two brass plates in a V-shaped angle on the tail of the barrel. The stock is simply carved. The gilded brass furniture with chased relief decoration includes, among other things, a brace-shaped screw plate, an unadorned rectangular thumb plate with a rounded top and ends that taper into acanthus leaves at the bottom and top, and a faceted butt cap with long spurs and decorated with two curls on each face and a small, octagonal butt plate with a point; the ramrod is fitted with a brass cap.
