Flintlock pistol

Part of a pair. The tail of the lock plate is sunk; engraved with a signature. The barrel is flattened on top; stamped at the rear with the city mark of Utrecht; silver front sight bead, the tail of the barrel ends in a point and is engraved with a man's bust. The stock is simply carved. Except for the iron trigger guard and plate, the furniture is of silver and consists of a butt cap with a mask and long spurs, a trigger guard ending in a leaf, a screw plate engraved with a rabbit and a fox chased by a dog and with the date, two diamond-cut ramrod pipes, and an oval thumb plate under a ducal crown framed by monsters and engraved with the coat of arms of the collar of the Order of the Elephant of Denmark; ramrod with silver cap.
