Flintlock pistol

The lock is simply engraved with, among other things, leafy tendrils, a laurelled male head and a signature. The barrel is stamped on the top and bottom with the coat of arms of Utrecht and has a ring around the front and rear of the breech of the barrel; grooved for a rear sight and provided with a silver front sight in relief in the form of a grotesque mask, of which the nose forms the sight. The stock is carved with, among other things, foliage. The formerly gilded brass furniture includes, among other things, a screw plate of two asymmetrical leafy tendrils in rococo style, indicating that the screw plate is of later date, a heart-shaped thumb plate with chased relief decoration consisting of borders of leaves under a leaf crown, and a butt cap with a mask at the bottom; the ramrod is fitted with a brass ramrod.
