Flintlock pistol

Part of a pair. The lock is unadorned except for a signature. The barrel has the Amsterdam city mark on the left rear; a rib runs along the top; the front sight is of yellow copper. The stock is curved and carved with, among other things, leafy vines; the lock plate cover is of cowhorn. Apart from the two octagonal ramrod pipes, the formerly gilded, yellow copper mount is striated like that of swords and consists of the trigger guard, screw plate, thumb plate and butt cap; the ramrod has a cowhorn cap.
