About this work
Part of a pair. The lock plate is unadorned except for a signature. The barrel has two bands with rings, one around the breech; rifled with 13 grooves. The stock is simply carved with, among other things, arabesques; the grip is curved. The formerly gilded, yellow copper mount with relief decoration consists of a trigger guard with a Turk's head on it, an openwork screw plate of leafy vines with a dragon, and a butt cap with symmetrical curls around a grotesque mask; no ramrod pipe; the ramrod has an iron cap.
