Flintlock pistol

Part of a pair. The lock plate is horizontally divided into three fields; engraved with foliage and a signature, marked on the inside with LM; the cock is engraved in bas-relief. The round barrel has a sight groove and a brass front sight bead at the tail; decorated on top with carved foliage against a granular background; marked at the rear with the coat of arms of Utrecht and underneath with a mark in the shape of a crowned heart. The stock is simply carved. The gilded brass furniture, except for the angular ramrod pipes with relief, is chased and chased with foliage, on the butt cap against a granular background, and consists of a pierced screw plate of symmetrical leafy vines, a trigger guard, a blank thumb plate framed by curled leaves and crowned with a leaf crown, and a butt cap with long spurs and a butt plate on an octagonal base decorated with a cross flower; the stock of black walnut is fitted with a cowhorn cap.
