Flintlock pistol

Part of a pair. The lock plate is unadorned except for a signature; the flint of the lock is relief-carved in the shape of a drop; rainproof pan. The barrel has a large silver front sight and two bands of rings, the front one incised; stamped at the bottom with an undecipherable mark. The stock is simply carved with, among other things, leafy work; the grip is curved. The silver mount, apart from narrow borders, is unadorned and consists, among other things, of a triangular screw plate with a point at the end, and a pear-shaped thumb plate engraved with the monogram CS; the ramrod has a silver cap.
