Flint Belt Pistol

This belt pistol is probably a unique example: there are few small weapons known with the VOC monogram. The lock is the same as NG-2002-23-173; the lock plate bears a signature and is stamped on the inside with JD. The barrel is provided with three incised bands and a brass sight bead; at the back stamped with the VOC monogram and at the bottom with HI or IH. The stock is simply carved. The formerly gilded brass furniture includes, among other things, two cylindrical ramrod tubes and a rounded trigger guard; the belt hook is filed; the ramrod is of steel.
