Sword with silver hilt

Ornamental sword. The cast silver hilt is obliquely pleated; the knuckle guard is screwed to the pommel and stamped on the carrying side with a city mark of Amsterdam, a silversmith's monogram and a mark that probably represents an axe; the quillon ends in a knob with a small knob on top, the crossguard also has two short finger guards that end just above the pommel; the pommel is boat-shaped and provided with a decorative arch on the back. The double-edged blade begins with an oval cross-section and tapers to hexagonal; etched with braided work with below it a panel with the address of the sword maker and below that braided work, curls, flags, arabesques, chiseled planes as a flower and a row of round paternosters.
