Small sword, basket hilt ending in little hands

Poniard or huntsman's sword. The cross-shaped hilt is mounted with gilded brass; the ebony grip is shaped like a handle; the pommel extends into a long grip ring and is decorated with radiating lines, engraved cross-flowers, and acanthus leaves in relief; the grip is crosswise grooved, below it is a band with overlapping circles in relief; the rectangular quillon block is engraved with cross-flowers and extends into a straight quillon with arms in the form of outstretched hands with a wreath around the wrist and on one side a ring around the index finger from which a chain as a knuckle bow runs to a brass ring soldered to the pommel.
