Flintlock pistol

Part of a pair. The lock plate is relief-carved with a monster head and a cavalryman with troops in a landscape with buildings; the neck of the cock represents a coiled monster; this lock and the lock of 269-A show small differences in decoration. The rear half of the barrel is carved on top with a scene as on the lock under a grotesque lion's head; the separation between the different panels consists of foliage, flowers and small rosettes inlaid in silver; the mark CMAL is stamped at the bottom. The stock is rounded. The iron furniture consists of a ramrod tube, a trigger guard with a pikeman carved on it with a city in the background, and a six-sided butt cap, inlaid in the same manner as the barrel.
