About this work
The order badge is a seven-pointed gold star, white enameled, hanging from the crown of the empire. The central medallion shows on one side, in multiple colors, the Archangel Michael with a flaming sword trampling the devil, with the inscription 'Auspicium melioris aevi' (A pledge for better times); the reverse shows St. George and the dragon and bears the same inscription. The badge is attached to a blue shoulder sash with red stripes by a ring.
