About this work

The order star, worn on the clothing, is an eight-pointed, slightly inwardly curved brilliant-cut silver star with the medallion bearing the initial of William II in the center, here encircled by the legend 'Je Maintiendrai' in gold letters on a red background. This is surrounded on the rays of the star by a green-gold oak wreath that ends in a bow at the bottom.
