About this work

The order insignia is a white-enamelled Teutonic Maltese cross in gold, with a raised medallion in the center containing a crowned W in Gothic script (after William II, King of the Netherlands and Grand Duke of Luxembourg, who founded the order in 1841) on a green background with a diamond pattern and within a gold border.
