About this work
The order badge is a white enamel Maltese cross hanging from a royal crown, with oak and laurel leaves between the arms and a pennant draped over two staffs between the points of the lower arm. The badge hangs from a purple shoulder sash. The silver order star has eight brilliant-cut points, with the central medallion featuring a lion and an inscription, identical to the obverse of the order badge, here surrounded by a brilliant-cut gold border.
