About this work

View of the place Stellenbosch, situated on the Eerste Rivier. Behind the houses the mountains of Groot Drakenstein. Drawing made during the second journey of Hendrik Swellengrebel, to the northeast of the Cape Colony, 10 September - 26 December 1776. According to the travel journal, the party was here on 10 September 1776.
