About this work

Nearly rectangular stove plate with a raised rim and two notches on both the left and right sides (for attachment to the stove); central image of a coat of arms with four quarters (of Johan Maurits of Nassau-Siegen), crowned with a five-leafed princely crown, resting on an eight-pointed Johannite cross; the coat of arms is encircled by a ribbon, from which hangs an elephant at the bottom (symbol of the Order of the Elephant), facing left; below the coat of arms, a scroll with the inscription: IOH : MAU NAS : PRIN.
