About this work
Iron slip hook with ring for the lifeboat. The slip hook consists of two opposing hooks, rotating around the same axis; on the outside, both hooks have an eye, which is attached via a chain link to a ring above. A heavy iron ring lies within the hooks, intended to be attached to the lifeboat. The slip hook is designed so that when the weight of this heavy ring is removed, the hooks automatically open, pulled sideways by the chain links at the upper ring.
