Model of a Gun Position on the Afterdeck

Model of the stern of a paddle steamer with a traversing carriage, incomplete. Gun and upper carriage missing. The lower carriage consists of a wooden frame, rotating over the turning circles with balls in the corners. The rear part of the carriage is hinged to the deck and must be folded up to allow the carriage to rotate. The model specifically shows the removable rear section of the railing, consisting of pieces of potdeck, supports and hull segments. The front part is fixed and has cove railings.
