About this work

Mechanical log consisting of a chip log in a case and two log chips, one of which must be attached to the chip log on the reverse side with a log line; the second log chip serves as a reserve. The log chips are cylindrical floaters with three screw-shaped wings, which drive the chip log in the direction of the clock. The round chip log has three enamel dials, for 1 mile (divided into sixteenths), 10 miles, and 100 miles.
