About this work
Mechanical log consisting of a frame log in a case and two log vanes, one of which must be attached to the frame log on the reverse side with a log line; the second log vane serves as a reserve. The log vanes are cylindrical floats with three screw-shaped wings, which drive the frame log in the direction of the clock. The round frame log has three enamel dials, for 1 mile (subdivided into sixteenths), 10 miles, and 100 miles. [combined description]
