Model of the Mortar Bed of a Bomb Sloop

Model of the cross-section of a ship, showing the construction of the support for a mortar carriage. The ship has two decks; in the hold under the mortar carriage, five catwalks are arranged alternately. Between decks, two longitudinal walls are arranged of stacked beams, connected by dovetails, supporting the upper deck. The construction is built up with beams and props, in the hold with three rows of heavy props. The whole is finished with a large number of added metal and wooden knees. On the upper deck, the pivot is arranged under a rectangular wooden cover, and parts of the deck can be removed. In the deck, a hatch with grilles is also arranged. On the upper deck, three gunports for carronades are arranged on each side. Scale 1:20 (according to Obreen).
