Model of a Salt-Water Distiller

Model of a distillation apparatus for obtaining drinking water from seawater, placed in the cross-section of a ship, on a baseboard. On both sides against the ship wall a condenser is placed above a water chest; the condensers have an inlet and outlet through the ship wall. A piping system leads the water to a vertical, cylindrical steam boiler in the middle. The pipes are interrupted where they run to other parts of the ship, so that the exact course of the water cannot be reconstructed. The condensers are of the Grant type (see NG-MC-1108).
