About this work

Round mast with octagonal top, topgallant yard, and donkey's head. The mast itself consists of an octagonal masthead surrounded by eight sides. The parts are held together by hoops. A number of short planks around the mast form a flat platform at the front, the ears with clamps supporting the shrouds on the sides, and a half-octagon at the rear. The topgallant yard is round at the front and is supported by the topgallant yardarms. The topgallant yard is reinforced with copper and the floor is closed with wide planks, secured with clamps on top and turn lips underneath. The donkey's head is rectangular and flat. This model can be disassembled. This mast is made according to the 'Dutch method' (see NG-MC-127).
