About this work
A half longitudinal cut-pointed 23 cm shrapnel shell, in a wooden crate. The shell is 65.8 cm long and has a caliber of 226 mm. The shell has two rings of pressed driving bands for a rifled barrel with six rifling grooves, a ballistic cap filled with wood, a fuze hole, a fuze tube to the bursting charge in the base, and a shrapnel charge of lead bullets of 24 mm diameter on top of the bursting charge, separated from it by an iron ring.
