About this work
A half longitudinal cut-pointed 18 cm shell, in a wooden crate. The shell is 45 cm long and has a caliber of 176 mm. It has two rings of bronze driving bands for a rifled barrel with three rifling grooves. The nose has the shape of a bottle neck with a fuze hole. The shell is hollow: the bursting charge is surrounded by twelve iron segment rings, which are cemented together with lead. The inserted base is also secured with lead rings.
