Model of a Jeer

Model of a tackle block consisting of two blocks. Each block has two rows of sheaves standing in a plane perpendicular to each other; the blocks are connected by the rope so that the outer and inner rows of sheaves of the tackle run parallel. The outer row of sheaves of the upper block has five sheaves, the inner row three; the inner row of the lower block has three and the outer row four. The rope runs through the upper row of the upper block to the inner row of the lower block, back and forth between the two inner rows, further to the lower row of the lower block, and finally back and forth between the two outer rows of the blocks. Double tackles of this type were used in mills.
