Model of a Slide and Carriage for a 30-Pounder Carronade

Model of an upper and lower carriage for a 30-pound carronade with trail, incomplete. The upper carriage has a slightly trapezoidal body with brass fittings and rings, the front and back are rounded. Against the back, the trail in brass fittings and on top the track for the elevating screw, at the front the ears with trunnions and the screw bolt at the bottom. With a flat rectangular head, the screw bolt runs through the slot of the lower carriage. The lower carriage is a wooden frame, rounded at the front, partially fitted with brass and provided with a hole for the pintle bolt; slightly towards the back, a locking plate with two holes is attached at the bottom, with which the carriage was secured in the longitudinal direction against the ship's side. At the back, the lower carriage widens and is slightly rounded. The carriage is here supported by a block with two legs, rounded at the bottom so that there is as little friction as possible when firing.
