Model of the Bow of an 84-Gun Ship of the Line

Technical model demonstrating the construction with cross-bracing by Sir Robert Seppings, on keel blocks on a baseboard. Forecastle with two crane beams and four wainscoting plates, situated between horizontal bands. Curved bow, rounded bow. Forecastle deck, two gun decks and quarterdeck: the upper three decks have diagonal bracing in the web, the deck beams supported by brass knees. Bunting on the lower gun deck. Thirteenth-part frames with cross-bracing. No skin, but senten. Some shrouds are missing. Pendant of NG-MC-97. Scale 1:40 (scale on model).
