About this work
Deep-sea lead, consisting of a brass cylinder with a lead foot, and a counter. The counter consists of a small two-bladed propeller on top that drives an endless screw inside the cylinder, on which a pointer moves behind a viewing glass with a scale next to it. Two protective brackets are attached around the propeller; the blades of the propeller unfold as the lead sinks into the water, and fold down when it is lifted.
