Silver medal. Obverse: a crowned Dutch maiden with a lance in her hand looks upward, where light from heaven shines upon her; before her stands the Dutch lion on cannons and an anchor, while lightning bolts shoot from the bundle of arrows he carries toward ships at sea; in the foreground left: a burning altar upon which medals lie and whose base is adorned with a liberty cap; around the altar lie a barrel and a bale within an inscription; edge: inscription. Reverse: a radiant star, in whose center and between whose six points seven laurel wreaths are found, adorned with a medal and bearing the names of Dutch admirals; behind the central laurel wreath two crossed anchors within an inscription.
