About this work

Silver medal. Obverse: illuminated by the all-seeing eye in a radiant triangle, a woman with a palm branch and a woman with a liberty cap on a spear shake hands; between them five coats of arms; in the background on the left, the fortress of Mahon, bombarded from the sea, on the right Gibraltar, also bombarded from the sea within a legend; section: view of the city of Paris under an inscription. Reverse: Peace with a palm branch and a full cornucopia tramples War lying on the ground, who holds a broken sword in his hand; above her Fame with a laurel wreath, blowing a trumpet; in the background, bombardment of a fortress and ships at sea illuminated by the sun within a legend; section: inscription.
