About this work

Silver medal. Obverse: Liberty, depicted as a Roman soldier, pierces with a lance a two-headed hydra, of which one head wears a crown and the other holds a torn parchment in its mouth; with the other hand the soldier rests on a parchment with a seal, which lies on a pedestal decorated with a liberty cap of a column decorated with eight coats of arms within an inscription; section: inscription. Reverse: inscription under a shield illuminated by a radiant all-seeing eye amidst palm and myrtle branches.
