About this work

Silver medal. Obverse: Religion, depicted as a woman with a burning flame on her head and a Bible under her arm, places her right hand on a bust of Luther on a pedestal decorated with a swan; against the altar stands a coat of arms with a cross, anchor, and burning altar within an inscription; edge: signature. Reverse: inscription under a cloud, upon which unrolled script lies and three crowns united by olive branches within a laurel wreath.
