About this work

Photo album in a brown leather cover with a metal lock. The endpapers have a floral motif. The album contains fourteen leaves of thick cardboard with gold-gilded edges. Each page contains two passe-partouts. A total of 28 cartes-de-visite depict persons of a (presumably) Surinamese-Dutch family. The album was bought empty by collector L.J. Hartkamp and later filled with cartes-de-visite also collected by him.
