Photo album with views of sights and artworks in Rome

Photo album in parchment binding. On the front cover the title and an image of Romulus and Remus suckled by a she-wolf (the symbol of the city of Rome), in gold stamping and relief. Both front and back covers are decorated with gold-colored frames, the spine with a geometric and leaf motif. The endpapers are of white embossed paper. The album contains 102 leaves with gold edges with the same number of photographs. Each photograph is framed and provided with an English printed inscription. These are images of sights in Rome, mostly dating from Roman antiquity: temples, gates, triumphal arches, columns, churches, squares and palaces. In addition, photographic reproductions of paintings by Raphael, B.E. Murillo, G. Reni and Domenichino and prints of sculptures from the Vatican Museums, Capitoline Museums and the Lateran Museum. Possibly the prints, given their good condition, are of a later date than the images.
